You are not able to submit your recommendation until your student submits an application. Many students submit the application just before the portfolio deadline putting pressure on you to get the recommendation in on a tight schedule. The faculty recommendation form will still be available after the portfolio deadline. If you get your recommendation in by the deadline, you can be assured your recommendation will be seen by the judges. If you need several extra days, it will probably be seen. It takes few days to organize the portfolio folders and for the judges to download them and begin judging.
If you can’t make the portfolio deadline, still do the recommendation. It will probably be seen.
