National Press Photographers Foundation Morris Berman Lecture Series

bermanMorris Berman had a dream: to establish a lecture series featuring outstanding photojournalists sharing their knowledge and skills with aspiring students.

When Berman joined the National Press Photographers Foundation (NPPF) board of trustees he proposed and funded The Morris Berman Lecture Series to accomplish that goal.  The NPPF created the Morris Berman Lecture Series to fulfill his vision. Digital video and the Internet will allow his dream to be shared with audiences worldwide.

Through Berman’s generosity, NPPF will provide funding to bring talented visual journalists to college and university journalism programs throughout the country.  As part of the learning process, students will produce a storytelling video of the lecture and events surrounding the speaker’s visit that will be posted on the NPPF website.

Berman was a former National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) president, one of its founders and long-time member.  He attended all NPPA conventions until his death Sun City, Ariz., in 2002.
