Marathon People lined Beacon Street during the 2015 Boston Marathon on Monday April 20th, to cheer on runners as they neared Kenmore Square. With the hundreds of viewers watching the race, disregard for the garbage can’s slogan was inevitable. Two men watch runners from a building on Boylston Street, where the finish line is located. As runners crossed the finish line, many erupted in celebration. It was a chilly, rainy day, so volunteers handed out hooded space blankets and urged runners to seek shelter indoors after the race. Announcers at the finish line lightened up the dreary day by wielding silly umbrellas and congratulating runners. Volunteers clean up trash at the water stations.
