Nichole Hernandez is a Multi-Media Journalist at KREM 2 News in Spokane, WA. She calls it her dream job! She’s wanted to be a reporter since she was ten because “It’s the perfect combination of my passions: visual storytelling, video editing and community. “ She graduated from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. While finishing her Master’s, She worked as a photojournalist at KPNX in Phoenix. She also shoots still photography in her free time. She says,  “That’s where my passion for impactful visuals started.”

In reaction to winning the award, she says, “I’m so excited for this opportunity to go to the Advanced Storytelling Workshop. I’ve looked up to many NPPA storytellers for years and can’t wait to learn from them and grow. I also want to bring what I learn back to my coworkers at KREM 2 to help build a stronger foundation of storytelling at the station.”
