Cover day to day general, in-depth features and investigative assignments. Edit and shoot general assignment stories, live shots and natural sound packages. Work alongside reporters to develop a storytelling plan.

Personal Statement:
I am always looking for new ways to challenge my storytelling abilities. Many of my colleagues have attended previous NPPA workshops and always come back with a wealth of knowledge that I see them integrate in their stories every day – this is the invaluable experience I look forward to the most. I’d like to take my skills to the next level and learn how incorporate more active and visually engaging shots while incorporating natural sound flawlessly.
My station is very NPPA-driven and all photojournalists strive to adhere to those very important standards. While we are fortunate enough that our station sponsor a few storytellers to attend the workshop every year, I’d like to increase my chances to attend this amazing workshop even more. Without this scholarship, it would be unlikely that I could afford the cost of travel, attendance and vacation days until future years.
Going the extra mile for my stories is a work ethic I pride myself in but I know there is always room for improvement. I love nothing more than the thrill of challenging myself find new and exciting ways to tell stories that could be otherwise bland.
