Leah Millis

Leah Millis is a photojournalist based out of Washington, D.C. Throughout her career she has covered a wide range of issues, including politics, international protest movements, war, immigration, climate change, mass shootings and the rise of domestic extremism in the United States.

A journalist for more than a dozen years, Millis spent 7.5 years at Thomson Reuters as a staff photojournalist after spending 4.5 years working at the San Francisco Chronicle. She has also worked at other various local newspapers across the United States, produced several short documentary films (garnering an EMMY) and written the accompanying articles for several projects. In 2020 Millis was one of the 11 staff members of the Reuters team awarded the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Breaking News Photography for their coverage of the Hong Kong protests for democracy in 2019.

Millis is drone certified, has recent Hostile Environment Training, a Wilderness First Responder certification and is available for assignment anywhere in the world.
