Christian Kantosky

Christian Kantosky is a native of Western Kentucky and a national award-winning photojournalist with ties to Peru, where his mother was born, and Poland, where his father’s grandparents immigrated from.

His work focuses on community welfare, immigration and LGBT+ rights and has been featured in the Lexington Herald Leader, Louisville Courier Journal, The Watchdog News and more.

While enrolled as an undergraduate at the University of Kentucky, pursuing degrees in journalism, economics and Spanish, he has had the opportunity to travel around Kentucky and the United States while covering a wide array of news and sports. Christian’s goal will always be to capture the truth, and along the way, he hopes to meet people and help tell their stories through a multimedia lens.

Christian’s work as an independent student journalist is supplemented by photo/visual internship experiences with the Lexington Herald Leader and Lexington Sporting Club. His next professional opportunity will be with the Boston Globe as their summer photo intern for 2026.
