Carrie Jensen

Carrie Jensen is the Urban IPM and Pesticide Safety Education Program Coordinator at University of Nevada, Reno Extension. She has a unique background in landscape architecture and environmental education. Jensen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from San José State University, graduating summa cum laude with minors in Spanish and Photojournalism. Her academic foundation blends environmental science, communication, and visual storytelling—an interdisciplinary mix that underpins her later work in landscape architecture, environmental education, and community‑focused outreach. She has over 15 years of experience working for non-profits and environmental consulting and landscape architecture firms. She is passionate about teaching sustainable landscaping practices, and has been gardening and designing with native plants for her entire career.
