2023 Hutchinson/Wheeler News Video Workshop Award 

Hannah Gonzalez is a Texas native. She studied Mass Communications at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts. She photographed and wrote about new businesses during her internship at Local Community News in San Antonio, TX, during her last year of college. 

 

Her career as a photojournalist began at KRDO in Colorado Springs, CO. She mostly covered wildfires and local breaking news.

In less than a year, she moved to Seattle, WA, where she works as a photojournalist for KOMO. Moving from market 82 to 12 in the U.S. has proven her dedication and passion for visual storytelling. She loves engaging with the community and being able to tell someone’s story visually. 

 

When she’s not consumed with her work, she’s hiking, embroidering and taking photos of the beautiful PNW.
