Job Description:
As a Photojournalist, I’m required to operate television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
Filming video for news reports
Conferring with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements
Setting up, composing and executing video shots
Maintaining video equipment
Editing video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content
Operating live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations
Performing other duties as assigned

Personal Statement:
I basically grew up with a camera in my hand… whether it was a polaroid, disposable, or a small vlog style camera as a teenager. After spending some years away from cameras, I filmed a creative project for a friend which led me to falling in love all over again. In the following years, I’ve refused to put a camera down. As a video journalist, I’m creating short documentaries for my stations’ newscasts, ultimately helping me reach my life long goal of becoming a documentary filmmaker. I’ve learned a lot in this newer position of mine and am always looking for ways to improve! Finances are the only thing holding me back from attending this NPPA workshop. I have the will and want to learn, but am unfortunately unable to afford it for a number of reasons.
