I’m a photojournalist for TEGNA – KTVB in Boise, Idaho – My current role has me editing 2 days week & as a photojournalist 3 days week.
I focus on general assignment, breaking news, sports (travel shoot Boise State Football & Basketball) investigations & local character stories.

My station KTVB paid for my trip to NPPA event in Seattle however our training budget for the year is maxed out, My mangers would like to send me to Denver for the workshop however I will need to pay my own way & personally after my expenses I have $156 each month & honestly can’t afford to go without a little help (lodging, food, flight &/or gas / rental car)
I got to attend the 2023 NPPA Event in Seattle – It was the best thing I’ve ever done in my career – It gave me such much confidence meeting with & learning from others in the industry. It also helped me to realize that I do want to pursue a career as a photojournalist – Ideally my next career step is becoming full time photojournalist & / or moving to a larger market &/or Chef Photojournalist / Director of Photography.
In 2022 my first year as a part time photojournalist I won Idaho Press Club, #1 Video Essay, #1 Live Shot & placed #3 for Photojournalist of the Year.
Since then I’ve had one story featured by NBC Nightly News, Had a capital budget proposal (SONY FX3) approved and now help with special projects (Investigations & travel with Boise State Football & Basketball ).
After a few years out of the industry – I got behind a camera again in 2018 & realized this (making videos) is what what I want to do for the rest of my life. I really want to grown in my career & be one of the best world class photojournalist & learn from them.
I’ll be telling stories behind a camera for the rest of my live & want to grow as a storyteller & pass on what I can to the next generation of video creators.
