Independent Video Journalist

I am currently working in Orion Photo Group as a Lead Videographer and in Canon USA as a freelance Professional Photographer. Previously I have worked in Lifetouch Inc as a portrait photographer where I was responsible for setting up the studio with lights, backgrounds, props and taking pictures and uploading them to the company lab portal. And I was also working part time in Verge Studios Seattle as Videographer/Editor/Photographer and had the responsibility of single handedly creating video production from shooting to editing with live music artists. I have also worked as a PhotoJournalist in a very competitive TV Station for more than 10 years in a professional environment where I had to work long hours with deadlines. I have never missed a deadline and I pride myself on being strict but fair when it comes to handling a job be it a complicated editing project or a highly detailed videography/photography job. I have edited more than one thousand tv projects including documentaries, short films, feature films, music videos, etc. After moving to USA in 2014, it has been a really difficult to get into my primary job as a broadcast journalist. I’ve tried to apply in many tv stations but hardly got any response. I hope this workshop will help me create a door for that. And as I work mostly as freelancer, it’s really hard for me to manage the fees. So, if I can get this scholarship I will be able to attend and be grateful to you.
