Andrea Morales

Andrea Morales is a second-year graduate student at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication.

Recent experience includes:
2009: Chips Quinn Scholar. Summer Intern at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. Awards in Portrait (bronze) and Feature (Silver) in CPOY.

2007-2008: Lima News photography intern (Fall-Summer)

2007: Eddie Adams Workshop XX student. Green Team

2006-2007: El Sentinel/Sun-Sentinel photography intern. B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida.

2006: Florida Fly-Ins Ecuador.

Lindsay Hook, 6, plays with a dollhouse in the backyard of her babysitter’s house. Lindsay’s father died of a heroin overdose when she was 2 and has been through foster care a few times since. Despite her ability to casually discuss her family’s problems, Lindsay has a bubbly disposition and a lot of love to give.

Goals

"If I could generate compassion and interest in underrepresented topics while telling a story in a compelling and accurate way, I feel as if I'd be doing something right. Some of the topics that I feel strongly about exploring with my photojournalism include, at-risk youth, immigration and the redefining American family."
